Topping-out ceremony with Santa Claus & Schmutzli

On Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 4 p.m. the time had come: the Flamingo Children’s Hospice was ready to be opened.

The event was attended by managers from several construction service providers who made a significant contribution to this construction milestone, as well as around 50 invited guests. Surprisingly, Santa Claus and Schmutzli also found their way into the new building. Both were summoned in the middle of clearing up their forest hut. As a gift, the two brought along a fir tree, which was then decorated with colorful ribbons by the guests and finally hoisted onto the roof by crane as a “topping-out tree”. The blue flamingo can now even be enjoyed as a Christmas cookie.

An atmospheric event before Christmas and a prelude to further extensive work on the interior and exterior of the first children’s hospice in the greater Zurich region.
