The foundation

The foundation was established in 2009 by affected parents and supporters of the children’s hospice movement. The start-up funding was provided by the Bethe Family Foundation from Germany. In order to promote inpatient children’s hospices in Switzerland too, the Bethe couple have been actively involved in the foundation board since its inception and are committed to the establishment and operation of a children’s hospice in Switzerland. An honorary, interdisciplinary Board of Trustees manages the foundation and is supported by advisory boards from key specialist areas.

Foundation of values

The commitment and activities of the Swiss Children’s Hospice Foundation are based on a holistic and solidary view of humanity. This goes hand in hand with the aim of meeting the existential, spiritual and individual needs of children and young people with life-limiting illnesses and their closest caregivers, including siblings. Their resources and abilities are promoted and strengthened. The Swiss Children’s Hospice Foundation is politically and religiously neutral and is active throughout Switzerland.
